A day of natural beauty. A visit to the cliffs of moher (40 mins drive) is a must. If you enjoy hiking check out the new coastal walk which has just been officially opened. After you have finished at the cliffs continue driving through the heart of the Burren region and visit Aillwee caves. Tip;Take the small detour to Ballyvaughan for a fresh seafood lunch. Return home and have a relaxing evening on the quiet farm surroundings and enjoy a traditional Irish meal at Cahergal Farmhouse.
A day of historical interactive exploration. Firstly visit Heritage Island (only 15 minutes drive from Cahergal Farmhouse) to see how people lived in the Iron/Stone ages. Continue to Knappogue Castle and see the majestic walled garden. Following this make your way to the renowned Bunratty Castle & Folk park. Bunratty Castle and Folk Park Tip; Enjoy a Medieval Banquet at the castle that evening with medieval themed food (eat with your fingers and scabbard !!) as well as live music & entertainment. We will be happy to arrange your reservation.
A day in the wild ! Drive to Doolin (45 mins) and catch the 10 am ferry (€10 each way) to the Aran Islands (Inis Mor) where you can spend the afternoon exploring the rugged landscape and many historical and natural sights of this Atlantic ocean island before returning on the 4 p.m. last ferry back to Cahergal via Doolin Ferry Tip; You can hire a bike for €10 per person on the Island to go adventuring (the bigger your group the bigger discount you should get).
A day of shopping/strolling. Time for a relaxing day in the historical town of Ennis (20 mins drive). Take in the Clare Museum and visit the Abbey or spend some time shopping in the numerous boutiques found along the narrow streets of the town centre. A good place for lunch is the Flynn Hotel Tip; Check out the listings at www.glor.ie and try to time your trip to Ennis with a live show.
A day of hiking/fishing/birdwatching. Visit the beautiful Lough Derg and the numerous villages such as Dromineer, Puckane, Ballina or Killaloe to organise a boat trip or fishing on the lake. Visit www.irishtrails.ie to see the many beautiful marked trails in this area.
Visit the historical city of Limerick (25 minute drive from Cahergal Farmhouse). Tip;Visit the Treaty Stone, King John's Castle, St Mary's Cathedral & The Hunt Museum all of which are located in the historical section of Limerick City.
Day of relaxation. Make sure to spend a day taking it easy at Cahergal Farmhouse. Enjoy a game tennis (mixed doubles is the best fun !!) or wander around the farm to get a closer look at all the animals, or go for a cycle/walk around the quiet country lanes. If the sun is out get the communal BBQ going or better still have us prepare for you while you relax with a glass of wine. Take the short 5 minute drive to O'Neills Pub in Newmarket on Fergus (sorry no website !!) for arguably the best Pint of Guinness in the world and maybe even a sing song if you are lucky.
